Running in nature recharges my batteries. Often I feel tired, but once I`m outside I feel energetic and it makes me live in the moment. Nature is alpha and omega.

Lars Erik Skjervheim, mountain running phantom

My grandfather was from Skjervheim in Myrkdalen. He was a very fit man, who used to run around in the mountains. When he visited his friend in Gullbrå, he had to walk across the mountains, almost 30 kilometres altogether. He has been very inspirational.

The varied and clean nature in Myrkdalen is waiting for me just outside the doorstep. To be able to challenge myself in this magnificent area means a lot to me. I have always been motivated to effortlessly run fast in the mountains – get into the flow zone.

Stølsheimen landscape protection area lies next to Myrkdalen. The area is full of challenges for everyone who believes that the best training area is in the outdoors. We give you the best experience, on skis and on foot. Downhill and cross-country. It’s in our nature.

At the end of the high ropes course there is a zip line which takes you all the way to the ground – it is so much fun! I have also been flying many times in the wind tunnel. You feel a little nervous the first time, but when it`s your turn you just lean forward and then all your thoughts disappear and then you just, you just fly!

Petter, 9 years old

You don`t have to be scared in the high ropes course, because you are very safe. For instance – I lost my balance on one of the platforms, but then I just swung out, as the rope held me.

I swim a lot in summer, also in small mountain tarns. Once I swam nearly on top of a mountain, almost 1000 metres above sea level. It was actually warmer than the lake in Voss as the tarn was so small and shallow.

Myrkdalen offers a broad range of activities. The distance is short to the idyllic fjords and adrenaline-filled activities. Pick an adventure. Enjoy it. We give you the best experience. On skis and on foot. Downhill and cross-country. It`s in our nature.

It is easy to find peace in the nature around Myrkdalen. If I have some spare time there are many options in our area – hike to a mountain, go horse riding or just spend time with friends.

Jorunn Hirth, from Myrkdalen

I remember the summers when the cows were grazing at our mountain farm and my grandmother milked them every morning and evening. For me Myrkdalen is the most beautiful place on earth. Sometimes looking out the window is enough to make me feel at peace. Luckily I enjoy the winters too. It`s magical to watch big flakes of snow coming down from the sky.

Myrkdalen lies in the middle of a magnificent landscape with mountains and fjords – large enough to make you feel small – in a good way. We give you the best experience. On skis and on foot. Downhill and cross-country. It`s in our nature.

You get the feeling of flow when everything comes together and you keep your speed the whole time. It doesn`t have to be difficult, but it is very rewarding when you bike a challenging track and you get into the flow zone. Then you really master something.

Ole Kristian Årmot, local extreme sport enthusiast

In the outdoors I always seek new experiences. You never know when it happens, the things you only experience once. Last year I saw an eagle catch a hare just 15 metres away from me.

In the last couple of years I have been mountain biking a lot. There are some great single tracks in the area around Myrkdalen – in Vossestrand and at Vikafjellet. But whether it`s biking, hiking or skiing– it`s all about getting away from your everyday life. The flow zone might be just around the corner.

Myrkdalen is a great starting point for beautiful bike rides, on the road and off-road. Narrow roads, hairpin turns, waterfalls, mountain plateaus and fjords – all this can be experienced in one ride. We give you the best experience. On skis and on foot. Downhill and cross-country. It`s in our nature.
