The perfect day is to take the first lift to the top and watch the morning light on Lønahorgi. The slopes are meticulously groomed and there's frost in the air. I have the slopes pretty much on my own and I can carve my way down to the bottom of the hill.

Challenging myself in nature makes me feel in balance. The pulse is rising but you still feel rested. You recharge and feel energetic. Myrkdalen is unique as the landscape is so open and varied – and big! With the new lift we also offer more demanding slopes. I really like that!

You can always find a challenge at your level in Myrkdalen, with 21 slopes varying from beginner to expert, great mountains for backcountry skiing and groomed cross country tracks. We give you the best experience, on skis and on foot. Downhill and cross-country. It’s in our nature.

I can take the Kråni lift to the top and then we ski down to Mørkvestølen and then we ski down, down, down and then there are a lot of jumps at the bottom that I like and then there is a brown house and then there is our house.

In my world, flow is when you ski deep, dry powder and you forget what´s happening around you. You become weightless.

There is so much terrain in Myrkdalen that you can always find good snow, and often you can pretty much enjoy it on your own. I really like that the forest is easily accessible, as the tree skiing is awesome. It’s a special feeling to arrive here early in the morning, preferably in the middle of the week when the ski resort is not crowded. You ski from the top of the lift to the forest where a huge amount of snow is waiting for you and you just ski as much as you can. Then it’s all about getting back to the top to do it again!

The snow really buckets down in Myrkdalen. More and more people have discovered this, both freeriders and other ski enthusiasts. We give you the best experience, on skis and on foot. Downhill and cross-country. It’s in our nature.

I feel at peace when I go cross-country skiing on a beautiful winter's day. Sleep in a tent. Be in the outdoors, enjoy nature and forget all the stress at home.

Ragne Elise Berre, outdoor enthusiast

I remember a ski tour last year to Finnbunuten. It was a still, bluebird day and we took the Kari Traa lift to the top. We walked to the peak and looked at the amazing nature in Stølsheimen while eating our lunch – thinking that this is what life is all about.  Then we skied back down in light powder and the sun was shining. A fantastic day.

Myrkdalen is a good starting point for many ski tours – day trips or multiday trips in Stølsheimen and the mountains around the Sognefjord. To look down towards the fjord from a mountain is something everyone should experience.

Myrkdalen lies in the middle of a magnificent landscape with mountains and fjords – large enough to make you feel small – in a good way. We give you the best experience, on skis and on foot. Downhill and cross-country. It’s in our nature.
